PFAS Removal Plant Awarded to Hydroflux
January 28, 2025
PFAS, commonly referred to as “forever chemicals,” are a class of highly persistent synthetic substances that have gathered significant attention due to their association with widespread environmental contamination and serious health risks. Their resilience in the environment, coupled with their resistance to degradation, presents challenges for water and wastewater treatment systems and their compliance with increasingly stringent global regulations.
Hydroflux is leading the charge in addressing these challenges by developing bespoke solutions to combat PFAS contamination. Recently, Hydroflux was awarded a contract to deliver a state-of-the-art PFAS removal water treatment plant to process water generated from an industrial manufacturing process.
The treatment plant will integrate several of Hydroflux’s proprietary technologies which will be delivered as a comprehensive Design and Build contract including engineering, advanced treatment equipment, residual solids handling, and control and automation.
The treatment process has been designed as a multi-stage system, incorporating equalisation, chemical treatment, and three of Hydroflux’s signature technologies—HySEP®, HyPURE®, and HyX®—to effectively remove PFAS compounds. These technologies ensure that the treated water meets stringent requirements imposed on our client.
To further enhance the plant’s efficiency and reliability, the project includes the HyCONNECT® remote connection facility. This feature provides Hydroflux’s experienced wastewater technicians and engineers with 24/7 real-time access to the plant’s control system, ensuring optimal performance and rapid response to any operational needs.
The project is on track for completion in August 2025.
